It's not very surprising that the most "GOOGLED" of all BMX trick is the backflip, but then again, maybe it is...

The backflip is by no means a new trick. Those of us who have seen RAD remember that it was Jose "DeCat" Yanez back in 1986 who was the first one to successfully pull one off. But now over 20+ years later, freestyle tricks have become far more technical and just plain crazy! The things that kids are doing today us "oldschool" guys back in the 80's never would have thought of much less dreamed of. So whats the obsession with backflips? Every park has people that can do them and there are alot harder tricks that are being done all the time. Bottom line must be it's just a cool trick, and the fact that you are completely upside down makes it a very intimidating to attempt and yes, dangerous! So we thought we would share with you a little video of one of our best riders right here in the Detroit area who just happens to specialize in the backflip department. His name is Will Woodford. Will is a supper shedder extrordinaire. This dude does backflips, front flips, tailwhips, 360 barrell rolls and so on. I have personaly seen this kid do a frontflip and hit the ceiling at Transitions skate park in competition, get back on his bike do it again and hit the ceiling, fall to floor and still get up and ride! Check back,  soon we'll be posting a vid of Will's raddness along with the how-to!
